Located in idyllic Pleasant Valley, just three miles from
the Pacific coast in scenic Santa Cruz, California, Devine
Ranch is an 80-acre, first-class equestrian facility surrounded
by towering Redwoods and rolling green hills. Devine Ranch
offers a high-quality, low-volume reining program second-to-none
– in a setting unlike any other.
Upon entering a beautiful gateway framed by massive redwood
timber and native Montana river rock, visitors are astounded
by the breathtaking natural beauty of the ranch. Amid this
majestic landscape sits the centerpiece of Devine Ranch –
one of the premiere showbarns in all of California. A rustic
redwood barn – flanked by columns made from the same
Montana river rock that graces the gateway – entices
visitors to explore its grand interior. Designed by John Blackburn
of Blackburn Architects in Washington D.C., the barn is reminiscent
of a bygone era of simple, classic architecture with its Douglas
fir and rough-hewn cedar siding and custom-crafted, powder-coated
stall fronts.
Next to the bucolic barn is a covered round pen featuring
deep overhangs of handsome cedar decking fringed with copper
gutters and downspouts in the same classic style of architecture.
Beyond the round pen, a winding road leading to the arena
curves through beautifully-landscaped grassy turnouts where
the horses enjoy basking in the warm California sun. A charming
flagstone patio overlooking the arena invites visitors to
lounge in comfort while observing the horses working in the
generous 300’ x 200’ space.
Devine Ranch is truly a magnificent environment…
